In light of the University's 2023-2027 strategic plan, the CESC aims to promote research activities and projects aimed at spreading a culture of cooperation and sustainability, in synergy with local stakeholders, the Bergamo community, and more broadly.

The center works in collaboration with those at the national and international levels who share the aspiration for models of life and development geared toward an inclusive, just, and environmentally respectful world, founded on intense personal, social, professional, and institutional relationships inspired by the common good.

The center analyzes, in particular, economic, social, environmental and legal changes at the global, European, and regional levels, and the challenges they pose to individuals, families, businesses, and organizations through an interdisciplinary approach.

The CESC pursues these objectives in close collaboration with other research centers and departments of the University, and with the Vice-Rectorate for Welfare and Sustainable Development.
